The victim identified as Nirmala hails from DG Anna Nagar Street, Ayappakkam, next to Ambattur, Chennai. Her husband had gone out to see their daughter. So Nirmala was alone at home. Her eldest son Santhosh Raj lives near their house.

In this situation, the door of Santhosh Raj's house was locked from outside yesterday. When he woke up in the morning and found that his house was locked from outside, he quickly knocked on the door. The neighbors who heard it opened the door. Then he saw his mother's door open and rushed to the spot.

Santhosh was shocked to see his mother Nirmala lying dead in a pool of blood. There was also a wooden frame near his mother's body. He then informed the police. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
