The youth who was much interested in the media field had come across an advertisement in Olx where it was claimed that they were looking for content writers.
The woman who went by the name Santhoshini claimed that she had contacts in Behindwoods and could get him a job here. She had also listed a number for contact. She had asked the youth for Rs 7,000 for “training” purposes. Even though the youth didn’t have the requisite money on him, he had sent the same, borrowing from others.
She had additionally siphoned off another Rs 4,000 from the youth saying he has been “selected’ to attend an event at Behindwoods which was to be graced by the likes of actors like Sivakarthikeyan and Pugazh.
The woman had also sent emails by way of a Gmail id that owed allegiance to the name – Priya Behindwoods. The youth was further asked for Rs 20,000 in lieu of “food and accommodation”. Despite him saying that he didn’t have that much cash on him, he was persuaded to send “whatever” he had.
The woman also said that she had procured job for another youngster whom she named it to be “Kishore”. When the youth asked for Kishore’s number, she had said that he didn’t like the job, ergo has left.
At one point, when the youth was asked to come to Chennai, he had done the same; however, some excuse or the other was given to him like actor Vivekh’s demise, someone in Behindwoods had contracted coronavirus and such.
Later, the youth realized that he has been cheated and was on the streets, having lost all the money he had. When he established contact with Behindwoods through email, he came to know that not only him but many such youngsters have been duped. In order to save any more victims, he has come forward to narrate his experience.
Behindwoods is releasing such information in the hope that no one else will be deceived like this young man.
We bring to the notice of all concerned that we, that is, Behindwoods, have deployed a merit-based employee selection practice. We do not charge / accept any amount or security deposit from job seekers during the selection process or while inviting candidates for an interview.
We have noticed that fake job offers in the name of companies, Behindwoods and Nian Media Private Limited have been circulated by some unauthorised persons / fraudsters. Some fraudsters are using the names of Behindwoods to solicit job applications that require the job seekers / applicants to pay processing fees or deposit amount by sending fake e-mails or by making fraudulent telephone calls.
If any person receives any unsolicited or fraudulent communication offering a job or an interview call from Behindwoods against payment of money, it is suggested not to respond. On receipt of an interview call for any job in the name of Behindwoods, the candidate may take some measures such as visiting the official website of the concerned Behindwoods company to get the contact details to enquire with the human resources department of such company about the interview details and other relevant information.
We also wish to bring to the notice of all concerned that spam e-mails are being sent in the name of Behindwoods with the intention of committing fraud and illegally obtaining confidential information and / or money from people. In case, you receive any kind of offers, prizes or requests for personal information via e-mail, purporting to be from Behindwoods company, you are advised to make sure it is genuine before responding.
We want to urge you to be cautious when opening links or attachments from unknown third parties. Please note that Behindwoods does not send e-mails asking for your credit card number or other personally identifiable information nor do we charge or accept any amount or security deposit from any participant for any competition, marketing promotions or campaigns. Any communication suggesting such payment is contrary to our policy.
